You may have too much oil in the bike, not only would it provide black smoke, but it would bog the bike down a lot too and make it run very rich. If this isn't the case, check your battery. Could have a bad battery. Hope all goes well. Update us.

When the bike takes time to crank up, the fault is with the battery and not with the engine. As the short circuit occurs when the battery is down, it takes a longer time for your bike to start, i.e., the fuel to reach your engines due to the ignition. Hence I would suggest you to check your manufacturer who does the battery service. Hope this helps.

Pull the side cover off to have a look at that assembly,if you are lucky then the problem might just be loosened tension nut on the gear lest you might have damaged the starter drive gear.Have there been ignition problems with your bike, any case of a misfiring of sorts.?

Whatever it is the main thing is to get it to a qualified mechanic as soon as possible. If you keep driving it that way you will just damage it more than it already is.
